It is with much pleasure that Ride for Life Snowboard Academy welcomes Olympic Bronze Medalist JJ Thomas as a member of their coaching staff.
JJ is one of the most revered, respected and successful snowboarders of all time, finding success in both the competition and filming worlds. Included in his resume are an Olympic Bronze medal, X Games win and Dew Tour Championship as well as a lead part in Oakley’s The Community Project.
JJ has also found success as a coach, most notably working with Olympian’s Louie Vito and Gretchen Blieler.
Added Founder & Partner Ben Boyd:
“I could not be more excited to have JJ join us. JJ and I have a long history, where I was blessed to work with him as his coach. His resume as a rider and coach obviously speak for itself, but this is easily surpassed by the person JJ is. He is a great role model, mentor and I consider him family. Hes a perfect fit for our programs philosophy and we are excited to kick things off with JJ joining us for our NZ Camp this October in Cardrona.”
“The addition of JJ to our coaching staff is going to be so so epic. Such an amazing person, coach and friend. Everything he did on a snowboard was so fun to watch and done with so much style, still one of the best mctwist ever done. His creative outlook on snowboarding is going to add such a unique and strong component to our coaching staff. I can’t wait to see what we come up with to put positive influence to our crew of riders!” Elijah Teter Founder and Partner.
JJ has since found success in the business world, partnering with former professional rider and friend Josh Sherman as the founders of Yea Nice.
JJ has a long history of volunteering and giving back to our sport. This is not more evident in the way Yea Nice uses its program Beanies for Life in providing free beanies to the homeless (https://yeanice.com/beanies4life). We are stoked and honored to have JJ join us.
